Pig Muff Pig: Зелёная свинья

The venerable green Russian Big Muff is a great pedal… for some people. The weakest link is its tone control. There are no two ways about it: the stock Muff tone knob pans between two separate filters that annihilate your tone. The usable range is from 11 to 1 o’clock; anything above sounds like mosquitoes and anything below sounds like pure mud. In short: it’s awful. And you can’t do anything about it.

Enter: the Pig Muff Pig. With a carefully tuned frequency range and reworked filter scheme, you can dramatically open up the range of the pedal and tailor a Muff-style fuzz to the rest of your rig, instead of the other way around. All flavors of crushing fuzz are now at your disposal, from a saturated grind at the low end to bright and harmonically rich on the top end. Of course, the tone section isn’t the only thing we looked over—we’re players here and we spent some extra time in the lab to get this one dialed in. The Pig Muff Pig has been battle-tested at plenty of shows and is a testament to the love we put into this stuff. Get into it.
